The Mayo Clinic identified several warning signs of mental illness in children, which include:

  • Mood changes
  • Intense feelings
  • Behavior changes
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Physical symptoms
  • Physical harm
  • Substance abuse
