Camp is designed for children and adolescents aged 8 to 17. \n\n\n\nThe main focus of the camp is to enhance social and friendship skills. In addition\, adolescents will receive developmentally appropriate life skills training.  Campers will also participate in enjoyable activities\, including arts and crafts\, musical performances\, and sports! \n\n\n\n\nDates: \n\n\n\n\nWeek 1: June 23 – 27 \n\n\n\nWeek 2: July 14 – 18 \n\n\n\n\nTime: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m \n\n\n\nDrop-Off: 8:45 a.m. – park in lot at 1545 Walker Ave and walk child across the street to Middle College (approximately 2 minute walk) \n\n\n\nCost: $400 per week (Partial financial assistance available). SUMMARY:From Beliefs to Shared Truths: Leveraging Research for Informed Understanding
DESCRIPTION:The Psychology Department at UNC Greensboro is pleased to invite you to attend a public lecture series entitled “From Beliefs to Shared Truths: Leveraging Research for Informed Understanding\,” organized by Dr. Chris Wahlheim (UNC Greensboro)\, Dr. Andrew Engelhardt (Stony Brook)\, and Dr. Bob Wiley (UNC Greensboro). This event will feature the following four presentations on how people respond to misinformation\, and corrections of misinformation\, from psychological\, political\, and communication perspectives: \n\n\n\n\nDr. Ethan Porter (George Washington University) will present “The Meaning of Misinformation”\n\n\n\nDr. Lisa Fazio (Vanderbilt University) will present “Understanding the Effects of Repetition on Belief”\n\n\n\nDr. Chris Wahlheim (UNC Greensboro) will present “The Role of Memory in Correcting False Beliefs”\n\n\n\nDr. Emily Vraga (University of Minnesota) will present “How We Can All Respond to Misinformation on Social Media”\n\n\n\n\nThe series will conclude with a discussion panel with some of the speakers. It will take place on Thursday\, 4/24 from 1:30-4:30pm\, and Friday\, 4/25 from 9:00am-12:15pm. All talks will take place in the Alexander Room in the Elliott University Center (UNCG). \n\n\n\nThe event is free and open to the public. It is supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Grant #2224565 awarded to Dr. Christopher Wahlheim at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
