Individual Therapy

Individual TherapyOur clinic specializes in therapeutic interventions and strategies that are supported by research. Treatment is available for a range of problems and issues for adults including:

  • Depression
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Anxiety (including Generalized Anxiety, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Social Anxiety, Phobias, Panic Disorder, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder)
  • Personality Disorders
  • ADHD
  • Lifestyle Issues and Stress
  • Eating Disorders
  • Social Skills Deficits

Couples Therapy

Couples TherapyWhen both members of a couple are concerned about relationship issues, couples therapy can help improve communication and provide a safe environment for the couple to discuss important decisions. For some couples, therapy strengthens the relationship and results in more positive feelings and behaviors. For other couples, therapy may lead to a mutually-beneficial decision to end the relationship. Regardless of the outcome, couples therapy is most effective when both members of a couple are motivated to seek help and are willing to be open and honest about their concerns. The UNCG Psychology Clinic provides evidence-based approaches to couples therapy.

Group Therapy

Group TherapyGroup therapy brings together multiple people with a common area of difficulty to provide support and introduce new coping skills. Most groups are time-limited and meet for 1.5 to 2 hours on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Recent groups for adults at the Psychology Clinic include:

  • Interpersonal Process Group for adults wanting to be more effective in social settings including increased self-awareness, communication, and relationship building
