This month, we are proud to feature Dr. Tamara Foxworth, an alumna of our Clinical Psychology Graduate Program.
Dr. Foxworth is a Clinical Psychologist in the Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Outpatient Clinic at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital. Her clinical interests include evidence-based treatments for PTSD (Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure), Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for depression.
Dr. Foxworth earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2014 under the direction of Dr. Kari Eddington in the Depression Treatment and Research Program (DTRP). Her graduate research interests centered on mechanisms of depression and she is co-author with Dr. Eddington and Dr. Paul Silvia on articles that have appeared in the Journal of Clinical and Social Psychology and the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology. After graduation, she completed her internship at the UAB Clinical Psychology Training Consortium and pursued a growing passion in the domain of trauma with a PTSD postdoctoral fellowship at the Memphis VAMC in 2015.
Dr. Foxworth credits the UNCG Clinical Psychology program with providing “a diversity of training opportunities that cultivated proficiency and confidence in my clinical skills” and Dr. Eddington in particular, noting that “I learned an invaluable skill set working with her that ultimately served as a strong foundation for my professional career.”
We wish Dr. Foxworth continued success in her position!
