Dr. Rosemery Nelson-Gray has served the Department of Psychology and university for 49 years and counting. She was recently interviewed about her path in the field, her contributions to research, teaching, and mentorship, and her current passions.
A trailblazer in many respects, Dr. Nelson-Gray pursued a career as a psychologist at a time when women were vastly underrepresented in the field. Among many notable achievements, she developed our APA accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology and was the first woman president of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.
Over the course of her career she has published 4 books, over 150 articles and chapters, and has served as Faculty Mentor for 75 doctoral students and numerous undergraduate students.
