Harriet Elliott Lecture Series Explores Impact of Stress and Life Adversity

On Thursday, November 7, 2024, the College of Arts & Sciences held its annual Harriet Elliott Lecture Series in the EUC Auditorium. This year’s series was hosted by the Psychology Department and explored the theme, “Stress & Us: Life Adversity by Other Names.” The event included a panel discussion by regional scholars, who discussed issues such as racism and cardiovascular health; acculturative stress and resilience among Latinos; the power of racial-ethnic socialization; and adversity’s impact on psychopathology.
