We are proud to learn that Dr. Beatrice Kuhlmann, who earned her Ph.D. from UNCG in 2013 under the direction of Dr. Dayna Touron, has won a 2022 Early Career Award from the Psychonomics Society, the preeminent society for the experimental study of cognition. Dr. Kuhlmann is a Professor of Cognitive Psychology and Cognitive Aging at the University of Mannheim in Mannheim, Germany, and she currently serves as an Associate Editor for the scientific journal, Cognitive Research: Principles and Implications. She is best known for her scholarly contributions to the understanding of metacognition (people’s understanding of their own cognitive processes and abilities) and cognitive aging (how people’s cognitive capabilities change as they grow older).
