Child Clinical Psychology (Assistant Professor) position  #002276

The Department of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for a tenure-track position in Child Clinical Psychology (Assistant Professor level), to begin August 1, 2020. The Department of Psychology consists of 29 full-time faculty and offers a BA and BS in psychology, including Disciplinary Honors, an MA in experimental psychology, and a PhD in clinical, cognitive, developmental, and social psychology (See http://psy.uncg.edu for more information). UNCG’s clinical program emphasizes the integration of science and practice and values both basic and applied research on human behavior across the life span. The doctoral program in Clinical Psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association (next site visit in 2021). All applicants should show evidence of a strong independent research program, a commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds, and excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching and practicum supervision. We invite applications from psychologists whose research focuses on child/adolescent clinical psychology, broadly defined. We are especially interested in applicants who use a developmental psychopathology perspective in the study of behavioral dysregulation and externalizing symptoms. We seek to build on a long-standing training focus of our clinical program to provide services to underserved populations in a culturally competent manner, as well as complement current research strengths in minoritized populations.

UNCG is a Minority Serving Institution, with an undergraduate student body of 45% ethnic minority students. UNCG and the Psychology Department foster an environment of collaboration across departments and schools and support community-engaged research. UNCG is proud of the diversity of its student body and we seek to attract an equally diverse applicant pool for this position. UNCG is located in a metropolitan area of more than 1.6 million in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Appalachian mountains. We are an EOE/Affirmative Action/M/F/D/V employer and are strongly committed to increasing faculty diversity (http://web.uncg.edu/hrs/).

Applicants must have a Ph.D. by August 1, 2020 from an APA-accredited clinical program and be licensed or license-eligible in North Carolina.

We will begin reviewing applications on October 15, 2019 and will continue until the position is filled. More information may be obtained from Dr. Gabriela Livas Stein, Chair of the Child Clinical Search Committee (email: glstein@uncg.edu).
