Dr. Danielle Weber, who directs the SHARE Lab, has written an article selected for the 2025 Thompson List. This list recognizes the most important and innovative research studies on military and veteran families published within the last year. The Thompson List aims to elevate research and serves as a resources for organizations seeking evidence-based insights.

Dr. Weber’s recognized work is titled, “Love is not all you need: Understanding the association between relationship status and relationship dysfunction with self-directed violence in veterans.” This article was published in 2024 in the Archives of Suicide Research. In this study, Dr. Weber shows that only considering relationship status when evaluating risk factors for self-directed violence may be insufficient. She finds that responses to a single item assessing relationship dysfunction are associated with enacted self-directed violence even when other intrapersonal risk factors are accounted for.

Congratulations to Dr. Weber!
