Dr. Janet Boseovski

Dr. Janet Boseovski is Professor and Department Head of Psychology at UNCG, and she’s asking for your help in supporting our psychology program. Any financial contribution is welcome – no amount is too small. These donations permit us to continue to support our students through scholarships and other academic pursuits that strengthen their opportunities for success.

We are one of the largest majors on campus, with over 1,000 undergraduate students and 60 graduate students. Despite our size, we have been able to offer top-tier, personalized experiences for our students, including one-on-one research supervision and experience with our faculty, internships in business and other settings in the community, participation in local, regional, and national conferences, community outreach, and exposure to leaders in the field via formal and informal department lecture series.

These experiences prepare our students with the skills that they need for their chosen careers, whether they intend to join the workforce immediately or pursue advanced training in psychology, allied fields such as education and counseling, or professional degrees such as law and medicine. Your support is instrumental in helping us to continue to foster the great success of our students. Indeed, we are extremely proud of our alumni!

General donations are welcome, or you may opt to donate to a special new scholarship fund that we have established: The Rosemery Nelson-Gray Scholarship will provide financial support for doctoral training to psychology students who will make an impact on the field and in the community. The scholarship honors Dr. Nelson-Gray, who has devoted over 50 years as a faculty member at UNCG! She was hired in 1971 and established the PHD program in Clinical Psychology 10 years later. Among her accomplishments, she has been called a “Trailblazer” in the field and she has won awards for her research and student mentorship. You can read more about Dr. Nelson-Gray here.

If you cannot help financially, you can do so by spreading the word about us. Personal testimony and word of mouth are the best recruitment strategies we have for attracting more students to the program!

Your support is crucial to our success, and we greatly appreciate your time and consideration.
