The Department of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for a tenure-track position in Developmental Psychology (Assistant Professor level), to begin August 1, 2018. The Department of Psychology consists of 25 full-time faculty and offers a BA and BS in psychology, an MA in General Experimental Psychology, and the Ph.D. in clinical, cognitive, developmental, and social psychology (See http://psychology.uncg.edu for more information).
We are seeking someone to join an active and collaborative research department. Candidates must hold or anticipate a Ph.D. by August 1, 2018 and should demonstrate strong potential for securing external funding. All applicants should have a clear commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching and to working with students from diverse backgrounds and should show evidence of a strong independent research program. We seek researchers who focus primarily on social and/or cognitive development in early to late childhood using experimental methodology; researchers who study social cognition (e.g., prejudice and stereotyping, moral judgments, emotion and trait understanding, selective trust and skepticism) are particularly encouraged to apply. We welcome experience and expertise in conducting research with diverse populations. The department has strong research resources, including equipment and systems for a wide array of research methods (e.g., eye-tracking, ERP, ESM), and a research-dedicated neuroimaging facility.
