Dr. Paul Silvia has been named the President-Elect of Division 10 of the American Psychological Association, the Society for the Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts.
This society promotes interdisciplinary scholarship that falls into three primary topics: creativity, the arts, and subjective impressions of the arts. Silvia has conducted extensive work in these areas, with publications that have focused on the measurement of creativity, exploration of aesthetic emotions in art (e.g., disgust; surprise), and individual difference variables implicated in creativity (e.g., openness to experience).
