Our Services
The UNCG Psychology Clinic strives to provide the highest quality psychological services to the individuals we serve. To accomplish this goal, clinicians consult the relevant peer-reviewed literature and employ evidence-based treatment models.
Our clinicians are trained in a variety of treatment models including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), parent management training, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed treatments. UNCG Psychology clinicians approach their work through a multicultural orientation. Our team is deeply committed to honoring diversity and fostering cultural competence and humility. We welcome clients and families of all identities, including sexual and gender diversity.
UNCG clinicians work collaboratively with their clients to better understand the nature of the issues that bring them in for therapy or assessment. Some commonly experienced concerns include worry or anxiety, adjustment problems, interpersonal difficulties and conflicts, relationship and couple problems, depression, grief, traumatic experiences and PTSD, issues related to parenting, conduct and behavioral issues with children, academic and learning concerns, and ADHD.
With an understanding of the problems that bring clients to the therapy or the assessment room, clinicians work collaboratively with their clients to identify and set specific therapy or assessment goals. In the context of a safe, caring, and trusting relationship, the therapeutic work or assessment commences.
Our Commitment to Diversity:
The UNCG Psychology Clinic is committed to promoting diversity and inclusiveness in service of the goal of providing sensitive and competent care to all. We define diversity broadly including race, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, gender, age, national origin, disability, socioeconomic status, and other attributes that contribute to one’s social identity, which we recognize as being shaped by individual historical experience. We maintain a commitment to treat all patients/clients as valued and respected individuals across all differences. As such, we offer interpretation services (e.g., Spanish-language, ASL) when available, and our building is handicap accessible.
