The Clinical Psychology program in the Department of Psychology at the University of North Carolina Greensboro (http://psy.uncg.edu) is seeking a new Academic Professional, Assistant Professor/Director of the UNCG Psychology Clinic (http://psy.uncg.edu/clinic/). The Clinic Director oversees the operation of a community mental health clinic that serves as the main practicum site for our APA accredited scientist-practitioner Ph.D. clinical psychology program and provides evidenced-based services to a diverse population in the Piedmont Triad area. The UNCG Psychology Clinic offers assessment and outpatient treatment services (individual, group, family) across the age range with a focus on culturally competent care. 

The Director is responsible for (a) overseeing the clinic’s operations, including staff training and management, billing and budgeting, and staff credentialing and licensure (b) developing and maintaining vibrant community relations and facilitating external practicum opportunities, and (c) serving as a leader in supporting the practicum training of our graduate students. The Director oversees the daily operations of the Clinic, supervises administrative staff members, supervises student interns, and works in collaboration with clinical faculty supervisors and approximately 20 graduate student therapists. This 1-year renewable appointment is a 12-month faculty position (academic professional assistant professor non-tenure track), reporting to the Head of the Psychology Department. In addition to administrative duties, the Director position includes the options of teaching, supervision, and/or direct clinical service in the UNCG Psychology Clinic. 

Applicants must have a master’s or doctoral degree in a mental health profession from an accredited program and be licensed or license-eligible in North Carolina (post-doctoral applicants can accrue supervised clinical hours for licensure in this position). Prior training and experience with evidence-based mental health practices are required. Strong organizational and leadership skills are essential; prior experience with budget management is strongly preferred. The successful candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering cultural sensitivity and promoting an inclusive environment. Preference will be given to licensed or license-eligible applicants with a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
