Dr. Paul Silvia will deliver the 2021 Torrance Lecture on Thursday, November 11. The title of his lecture is Ordinary Creativity in Everyday Life: What Our Quirky Hobbies, Projects, and Passions Reveal About Human Creativity.
The E. Paul Torrance Lecture is sponsored by the Torrance Center for Creativity and Talent Development at the University of Georgia. It was established in 1985 to honor Dr. E. Paul Torrance, a native Georgian and pioneer in research on the identification and development of creative potential.
Silvia is the Lucy Spinks Keker Excellence Professor at UNCG. He uses ecological assessment methods to study creativity and the arts and he has written books on the psychology of interest and on conducting daily-life research. Silvia is also past President of APA Division 10, the Society for the Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity and the Arts.
