Sarah Sperry has been awarded an American Psychological Association (Graduate Student/Psi Chi Division) Junior Scientist Fellowship. Sarah is a graduate student who works with Dr. Thomas Kwapil in the clinical psychology program.
These awards are highly competitive and they acknowledge “outstanding research-oriented students.” Sarah’s research involves a new application of experience sampling methodology (a technique that enables of-the-moment assessment of participants’ subjective experiences) and physiological assessment to examine the multi-dimensional structure, expression, and physiological correlates of impulsivity in daily life.
This project will illuminate our basic understanding of impulsivity and the findings can ultimately be applied toward translational research on its maladaptive consequences.
